Lydia? Marriage?
I feel ashamed for leaving Pemberly without getting to know Miss Darcy better but I had to get home quickly. Yesterday Jane sent me a letter saying that Lydia is missing and that mother was distraught. I do hope that Miss Darcy will forgive me for leaving. No one would guess who Lydia has eloped with. She went off and married Wickham. Wickham, of all of the officers she could have chosen, she has to choose Wickham. Mr. Darcy was very understanding about my leaving and I was surprised that he was. I am still waiting for him to say less than kind words to me. I hope Lydia is okay.

I share similar feelings with you ,Lizzy, on the topic of Lydia and Wickham. I am not only surprised, but frustrated. He is not at all suitable for my youngest daughter. I cant believe I trusted Colonel Forester to keep Lydia safe.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Bennet you must be warned. Wickham is after all the wrong things. Be prepared for what my come of this, it wont be pretty!
DeleteWaiting for me to say less than kind words to you? Am I some kind of monster? I am so nice to you yet you think I shall be mean. Well how about this, I am thankful you said no to my proposal and saved me from the biggest mistake of my life.
ReplyDeleteSo I see your sister has been eloped by Wickham. If i recall correctly, you used to have a thing for wickham. So, clearly you, along with the rest of your family are made and confused with your sister but tell me why you are mad? Because you know what type of person Wickham is or because you wish it had been you? Something to think about my dearest (;
ReplyDeleteI agree with you aswell. I am absolutely shocked and dissapointed. How she could run away and scare us all is beyond belief. I am angry with her because of the shame this will bring upon our family but also because I am worried. Worried that I have no idea where she is!
